Barb's spaceOctober 09 The good things in lifeWell, once again summer has flown by. Why is it the things we love so much seem like such a short glimpse in time? As I reflect back on the summer I can see how life in general can change so quickly.....from feeling secure in ones self to questioning decisions, health, choices and love. I have learned to deeply appreciate my family and the joy that they bring to me (well, most days). I am amazed that I have created children who have become my best friends.
I am in my second year at college now with not much in class teaching left. Soon we will be out in the field working in hospitals and putting into practice all the knowledge that has been deeply embedded in our minds. I am anxious to see which road I will end up down. I am in the process of deciding which city (or town) that I would like to do my fiinal clinical at. There are so many factors involved in making this decision so I am carefully weighing out the best route to take.
That's all for now......sorry it has taken me so long to blog. Hopefully less time will pass before I write the next one. I hope you are all well and have something in your life that gets you excited every day. Hugs!! January 30 My corner of the worldWell, this is the first of what I hope, will be many entries. My world right now consists of getting up in the morning and getting my three kids up and off to school. Than I pack my own lunch and head out the door to college. My school days are from 9am to 4pm and consist of lengthy lectures, graphic videos and great small talk with the other college students. For those of you that don't know, I have returned to school to further my nursing education. This time round I am getting my LPN (Licensed Practical Nursing) Diploma. In the evenings my hours are filled with studying, being a mom, and.....well, ya..that's pretty much it for now.
It's not easy going back to school when you are all grown up, are a single mom, and trying to still work part time as a nursing assistant. But....I wouldn't change it. I love being challenged daily and I am proving to myself that I can do this (And am getting great grades to boot). When you really love what you do, it just makes it all that much more enjoyable.
My kids are all doing great. Brittany is in grade 12 and has already been accepted to college for next year. I will miss her! Tyson is in grade 9 and six feet tall. Wow...time flies by. Little Spencer is.....well, not so little. He is in grade 5 and is a constant entertainer for us all. I am so thankful for the great kids that I have.
Well, that's it for now...more to come...later. |
